How instructors and institutions authorize Lernora on Zoom
Log in to your Lernora Instructor/Institution Account
Navigate to Lernora Sign In and log in using an account with Instructor or Institution privileges. Ensure your email address is verified.
Open Dashboard
Go to your Dashboard and in the Integrations. Locate the Zoom Integration card.
Click "Connect Zoom Account"
Clicking the connection button initiates the secure OAuth 2.0 authorization sequence. You will be safely redirected to Zoom's authorization portal at zoom.us/oauth/authorize with a cryptographically generated state token.
Authorize Permissions on Zoom
Log in to your Zoom account if prompted, review the scope permissions requested (meeting management, webinar management, recording access), and click Allow.
Verification & Active Status
You will be redirected back to Lernora. The Zoom Integration card will display a green "Connected" badge along with your authorized Zoom account identity.
Ensure you initiated authorization directly from your Lernora dashboard. Do not bookmark or manually edit the OAuth URL parameters.
Zoom OAuth codes expire after 10 minutes. If delayed, click "Connect Zoom Account" again to generate a fresh token.
Refresh your dashboard page or log out and back in. If persistent, verify your Zoom user email matches your profile.

1. Hosting Live Meetings
Create interactive live video classes linked directly to courses
Use-Case Description: Instructors and institutions schedule interactive live sessions (Q&A sessions, live coding, medical case studies, office hours) for students enrolled in a specific course.
- Active Lernora account with Instructor or Institution role.
- Connected and authorized Zoom account.
- At least one course published or in draft mode.
- Navigate to Dashboard → My Courses → [Select Course] → Live Sessions.
- Click Schedule New Live Session.
- Enter topic title, start date/time, duration, and optional agenda.
- Click Create Zoom Session
- The meeting link, meeting ID, and passcode are stored and linked to the course.
2. Hosting Webinars
Broadcast large-scale webinars and symposiums
Use-Case Description: Institutions host large broadcast events, medical webinars, or keynote lectures where attendees join with listen/view-only privileges and designated panelists present.
- Active Zoom Account with a valid Zoom Webinar Add-on License.
- Connected Zoom Integration in Lernora.
- Navigate to Dashboard → Courses → Edit Course →Live Sessions → Schedule Webinar.
- Provide webinar title, panelist details, scheduled date, and duration.
- Click Create Webinar.
- The webinar is published to student calendars and registration links are generated automatically.
3. Editing & Deleting Meetings/Webinars
Update timing or remove sessions with instant two-way sync
Use-Case Description: Reschedule a live class, update meeting agendas, or cancel a session if needed.
- Must be the creator/instructor who scheduled the original meeting.
- Open the session detail page under Live Sessions.
- Click Edit Session to update time/title.
- Click Cancel Session to remove the meeting.
4. Session Recordings & Student Notifications
Fetch cloud recording links and send push/email alerts
Use-Case Description: Students access past recordings of missed live classes, and receive automated push and email notifications when a live class begins.
- Zoom Cloud Recording enabled on the instructor's Zoom plan.
- Students enrolled in the course with push/email notifications active.
- After session completion, navigate to Live Sessions → Past Sessions → Recordings.
- Lernora queries and displays secure play/download links for students.
Removing the App & Data Deauthorization
How to disconnect Lernora from your Zoom account and data removal rules
Step-by-Step Guide to Removing the App
- Log in to your Lernora Instructor or Institution Dashboard.
- Navigate to Dashboard → Integrations.
- Locate the Zoom Integration card showing the green "Connected" badge.
- Click the Disconnect button on the Zoom card.
- Confirm disconnection when prompted. Lernora instantly deletes your stored access and refresh tokens from our database and reverts your status to "Not Connected".
- Log in to your Zoom Account and open the Zoom App Marketplace .
- Navigate to Manage → Installed Apps and find Lernora.
- Click Uninstall / Remove next to the Lernora app icon.
- Confirm uninstallation. Zoom will revoke access tokens and trigger an automated Deauthorization Webhook to Lernora to purge any remaining credentials.
- Lernora will immediately lose access to schedule, modify, or fetch meetings on your Zoom account.
- Scheduled live sessions in your courses will no longer automatically launch Zoom via API.
- Students will no longer receive automated Zoom join links for upcoming sessions.
- Existing course materials, video lessons, and student progress on Lernora remain completely unaffected.
How We Remove Your Zoom Data
Upon receiving Zoom's compliance deauthorization webhook or when an instructor clicks Disconnect Zoom in Lernora settings:
Access tokens & refresh tokens stored in Zoom Credentials are permanently deleted from Our databse within 5 seconds.
Zoom User ID and Account ID index references (Zoom Credentials) are purged immediately.
A compliance confirmation payload is dispatched to Zoom's Data Compliance API endpoint to confirm complete erasure.
